Greetings all who wrestle for the Kingdom. What is in your river? I was in the prayer room recently and had a few moments so I grabbed Pray! Magazine and browsed through a few articles. One of the side-bars titled “Real-Life stories of Healing” caught my eye. It was related to an article on praying a verse in II Chron. The verse mentions how God will heal our land. The fact is where people have humbled themselves, sought God, repented and prayed that this has had amazing impact on the actual land where the people who followed this instruction lived. Accelerated growing seasons and huge produce, 15,000 Caribou showing up within two days of an Arctic tribe praying, and so on. The effective prayers of righteous people having profound, and many times immediate, results. The story that grabbed my eye and would not let go was about Fiji. A village there was led by the Holy Spirit to repent of cannibalizing the first Methodist Missionary to their island. They invited that Missionary’s descendents to receive their humble apologies. The family accepted and gave them forgiveness. It was captured on CBN and was a blessing to all. Since then the village has spent time pursuing God to uncover any additional previous sin that needed to be confessed and repented of. However, that is not the entire story. The stream that runs through the village Nuka, (where all of this activity occurred), was toxic and polluted. After these prayer efforts the water became clean and pure. A blessing to the village and a demonstration that God had been true to His word and indeed ‘healed their land’. Now that is what I call a successful water project! Oh, One additional item. The stream above and below the village is still toxic and polluted and the water unusable. There is supernatural power available to resolve any situation that we find ourselves in. Sometimes there are toxic streams running through relationships. Sometimes they are flowing through our thought life. Other times there are toxins in our bodies. Do you have a toxic stream in your life that needs the power of God released for healing? Do we really have an expectation that God not only can but will heal our land if we humble ourselves, pray, seek His face and repent? Here is the verse; 2 Chron. 7:14 (NASB) and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Perhaps we should all spend some time meditating on this verse and asking God to reveal if there are any sins that need to be dealt with in our past and/or our family or communities past so that the power of God can be released to heal our land. May God cleanse our streams as we seek His face. Here are some results from God’s cleansing, toxin removing activity in the past month … REPORTS: • Many of you who attend the “W” know Pastor Rick, an RCA Pastor from Byron Center. His Mom passed away last week. Please remember Rick and his family in your prayers. • A man needed a job and was prompted to call a man he had met to see about a referral to a job. The man had a job that would work for him he was working within a week. God, You do indeed provide for Your children. • A woman with back pain and fluid build-up had many days of relief after prayer but the symptoms are now coming back. Father, we look to You as the “finisher of our faith” and ask You to complete the work of healing in her body. • A man was experiencing severe inflammation and pain. He reported back that it had greatly reduced after prayer. Father, we look to You for the completion. • A woman had to leave her house and have it inspected for mold and other possible toxins before DSS would allow her son to return. The inspection showed no problems of any kind. We bless you Father for a “clean stream”. • We did another “box of prayer” at the “W” two weeks ago. We had everyone write down their requests and put them into the box and then gathered around the box, anointed it and all prayed at once for the requests. A man who was there had put in a request for his wife who was dealing with chronic pain. He did not mention how we had prayed of that he had remembered to put in a request for her. She asked the next night if we had prayed. He asked why and she reported that the pain had disappeared. A week later and it was still gone. We bless you Healing Lord that the prayers of Your people are effective and accomplish much. • A report came in from Africa via email after the last Update; Hey, Ted. It was so great to get up this morning, hit the "Send/Receive" button on my email, and get your update. Yes, it was nice to know that you have been praying for us and our requests; however, the "THUMP!" message was timely. We've been experiencing a few thumps --just yesterday we took paperwork in to a local lawyer for some "thumps" we have encountered, found viruses on our computers, and discovered that a thief had jumped our wall in the night and stolen our generator and some tools. Thump, thump, thump. So, while trying to stay God-centered, but with nonetheless a bit of a heavy heart, we went to sleep for the night. Waking up to your message (hey! it looks like you sent it just minutes ago!), was like rebooting my brain this morning, reminding me that we all will go through these things, but that they only serve to strengthen me. We are trying to keep our focus on Him, and we will watch and see what He does! Could be exciting, no?? God bless you for your encouragement . . .even if that encouragement came by way of thump. I will be praying for you on Feb 27th. And, by the way, any injuries in that "thump" on the ice? Or are you ok? Nelu Father, You send encouragement to Your sheep at the point of need … Thank You. By the way … a number of you emailed to ask if I was OK after the fall and yes I was and am fine. Must be I have enough padding to cushion even a hard blow. Here are some additional things to be aware of as WT members; OPPORTUNITIES: · Pray for the staff and workers @ Mars to rise up in the power of the Holy Spirit as they do their work. · We still need people for the WT Sunday time periods …. Names anyone? We are down to one person in the prayer room in a couple of slots; please make this a matter of prayer. · Please continue to pray for Ted this Wed Feb. 27th He is speaking at the Chapel for Spring Arbor University. This is Claudia’s Alma Mater, Ted attended there for two years and daughter Etta is attending now in her senior year. You are appreciated and prayed for often. Ted and Claudia Kallman Wrestling Coaches “Great is the eternal power at the heart of life; mighty the love that is stronger than death. Faithful love gives life to all, and acts of grace restore our strength. Life’s harsh winds uproot the weak; its hard rains beat down upon our kin. Let those who stand support the falling, keep faith with those who lie in the dust. To the sick, we must bring healing; and to those who are bound, release. How good to redeem the ancient pledge, for joy to blossom in arid soil! We give thanks for the power to live and to act, and for the blessing of love that is stronger than death. ” Gates of Repentance – The New Union Prayer Book for the Days of Awe.
