Greetings all who wrestle for the Kingdom. And a child shall lead them … We will get to that in a minute. Where did 2007 go? What a great year we have had in ministry and life. We trust this little note finds you well and prospering in all things as your soul prospers preparing for a most excellent new year. I also trust you had a great Christmas season. We certainly did with all of our kids and almost all of the Grandkids down in Texas. Whatever God is laying on your heart right now for the New Year … pay attention. Do not dismiss anything as too big or not possible or too far outside the box. Nothing is impossible for Him. If He guides He will provide. Now … what about the child? I heard last week of a story that puts the exclamation point on that thought. A member of the Wider Wrestling Team who lives in Ohio told it to me. He has a ten year old son who had a remarkable experience but acted as if it was just a normal everyday response to a difficult situation. Here is the story; Our WWT member used to attend a Baptist Church in Ohio and was back visiting that church two weeks ago. His ten year old boy was in the Sunday School when one of the children fell and broke his arm. We say it was broken because the worker described the arm as “hanging in an unusual way” and definitely broken. The WWT member’s son said “Oh, I know what to do” and walked over to the boy with the injury. He took the arm and put it back into place and prayed for Jesus to heal the arm as the people looked on. The workers then took the boy to the Emergency room since the arm was obviously broken. The Hospital took X-rays and checked the child out and declared “this arm is not broken you may as well go home”. The worker who saw it said there is no way that arm was not broken but the other people in the church said “It must have just been a bump”. Indeed, a bump that was dangling in an unnatural way that the prayer of a ten year old boy impacted with a supernatural result. Why was he able to pray with such profound impact? He had seen someone at his new church pray for a person who was sick and God healed them so his expectation was “Oh, when somebody is hurt we should pray and God will heal them”. Child like faith. Supernatural results. This should teach us two things. First, the trail of discipleship detailed in Matt 9:35 through Matt 10:8 where Jesus did the work, gave his disciples authority to do the same work and then sent them out to do it was exampled here. This young boy followed that trail and the results were remarkable and glorified God. We should do the same. Second, the boy prayed believing. We could all take a lesson from this child. Pray believing that it is done in the name of Jesus. Pray expecting that it is God’s will to do it and He will do it. Nothing is too difficult for Him. Nothing. Thank God also for these additional reports that are the result of simple, child-like believing prayer … REPORTS: • A woman was looking for work and came to the “W” for prayer. During the small group time the Lord prompted her with a name of a person to call. She called the next day and was working for that person on Friday. God You are indeed our provider. • A man came to the “W” with addictions and felt a weight lift off as he was prayed for. God, You complete the work You start. We wait on You to break these addictions completely. • A group of intercessors gathered to pray for Mars Hill. One of the intercessors began to pray for healing for the staff. During this prayer a woman who was there to pray was healed. She is an RN and had been experiencing pain in her feet for a number of years ranging from severe to tolerable but always there. During the prayer time her feet became pain free. • A man was praying @ the “W” and felt a sharp pain in his arm. We asked if there was someone there with a pain in the arm or shoulder. A man who was visiting said he had been having shoulder pain for years. We gathered around him and prayed. He let us know that the pain is reduced and he slept through the night without pain. Father, we bless You for showing us how to pray and for healing. • Another person in that circle had their shoulder pain healed at the same time. Thank you God for the bank shot! J • A woman was having leg pain. She was prayed for and the pain left. We bless you Healing Lord. • A woman with Carpel Tunnel emailed for prayer and this was her response; Thanks, Ted, for your words to me. I missed the W last night. I spent some much needed time with my husband. I'm already experience healing - have you been praying for me? I haven't been waking up with numb hands since I emailed you. Hmmmmmm. I'm planning on coming next week. Yes we prayed. We anointed the email and laid hands on it at the “W”. What a great report. • An intercessor that is a part of the WT asked for prayer for a relative. The relative was better and then completely healed within a day. You are a wonder working God. • A young family was prayed for at the “W” a year and a half ago and they experienced a breaking of addictions and a restoration of the home. The husband started Community College last Fall in a business program and reported this week that he was a straight 4.0. We rejoice with the continued positive changes this family is seeing. • Another email read; “Just a note to let you all know that the pain I came into the W with in my back last night is gone today. Thanks be to God!” Thanks be to God indeed. • A woman with a history of eating disorders and cutting problems reported that she has gone 86 days without a cutting or eating incidents. Father, take this good report and finish the healing work in her heart we pray. • A young man needed a car and asked for prayer. The next day a friend called and said she her parents had purchased a new car for her and would he like to buy her old one … at a substantial discount from its street value? Yes!!! Oh yeah, after that testimony a woman told us that she had been prayed for the week before about needing a car and had been given one the next day. And then another woman reported that God had given her a car during the past week as well. Lord you are a great provider. • A teacher in a local school was having severe bouts with anxiety and stress and depression. She asked for prayer at the “W”. During the prayer time the leader said he saw her driving home and laughing with joy bubbling up from her innermost being by the Holy Spirit. She thought “nice picture but I do not see how that will happen”. When she got into her car after the “W” and turned on her CD player the song that played used the same words that had been prayed over her. The exact same words. She started laughing at the irony of that happening and then realized “Hey, I am in my car laughing on the way home”. That instant the Holy Spirit filled her with joy and she has risen every morning since that prayer time with worship music pouring out of her heart and joy flowing out of her spirit. What a gracious God we serve. • A woman in distress regarding her marriage came for prayer with a friend. Within a week her husband met with their pastor and also agreed to counseling which he had previously been unwilling to consider. Thank you Father. • An intercessor went to her grandfather’s funeral and was asked to speak. God gave her the words but also she was able to pray for a number of relatives and see God move in healing for the living. Thank you God that you give us what we need. • A woman was having stress at work. She asked for prayer. God spoke to her spirit to ‘bless them’. She began to look for ways to bless her co-workers and the atmosphere changed completely within a week. Father, give us hearts to hear Your voice and obey. Here are some additional things to be aware of as WT members; OPPORTUNITIES: · New staff people are bringing new energy and focus. Please pray for transition wisdom. · We still need people to pray during the services on Sunday. · Pray for a possible training day for intercessors @ Mars Hill. · We would like to start a prayer support team for the “W”. Please contact us if you are interested in serving in this capacity. You are appreciated and prayed for often. Ted and Claudia Kallman Wrestling Coaches “The Psalmist says, “Ani Tefilla,” which can be translated “I am prayer” (109:4). Tefilla is expressed in the personality of the individual. If you wish to know something of a person’s character – watch them at prayer.” Rav Yehuda Amital
