Greetings all who wrestle for the Kingdom,

27 years.

27 years of gradual decline.  27 years of slow decline to the point of being in
a wheelchair.  27 years of an incurable and devastating disease that had been
prayed about, prayed for and yet there was never a change or improvement.

27 years.

Well, as we remind each other often at the “W”, the facts and medical
declarations are not the last word.  Jesus is the last word  …  He is THE Word
and has granted authority in His name to His disciples.  And now we hear the
rest of the story.

Last March many of you prayed for me as I traveled to NY/NJ to conduct a two day
Listening and Healing Prayer event for the Reformed Church in America.  After
each session I prayed for people and we saw God do some amazing things on the
spot.  I had lunch on Sat. with a Pastor from NYC and enjoyed the time.  He
came into the afternoon session with his wife.  She was in a wheel chair.  I
knew from the prayer time at the end that she was suffering with MS but I did
not know how long she had suffered.  I had used the example of Julie Bennison
from Mars in the teaching where she was healed of MS and that raised the hope
in this couple that maybe God would act on their behalf.  I never heard back
the result of that prayer time until last week.

Another Pastor from NJ who had also attended the same conference was in town for
some RCA training and she wanted more copies of Stark Raving Obedience for her
Elders so we got together for coffee.  In the course of our conversation she
informed me that the woman was healed and is out of her wheelchair and
ministering beside her husband and praising God for his mercy and life.

27 years but now she is free.  The facts were not truer than the name of Jesus.

How long have you been petitioning the Lord for a situation?  Can you still
trust Him?  Perhaps this is the day that someone will come with a word of hope
and encouragement.  Perhaps this is the day someone will pray for you and God
will act.  It is for freedoms sake He set us free.  Bless God for He is good
and His word endures forever.

God also continues to stretch us in unique ways.  A woman from Mars Hill who has
begun listening in recent years was driving home and missed her exit.  She never
misses her exit.  She thought ‘this must be a God thing’ and asked the Father
what He wanted.  He said ‘Exit here’.  She got off the highway and heard ‘turn
here’.  She thought it meant turn around at the next light and drove past a
condominium complex entrance.  She then heard ‘go back and go into the condo
complex’.  She obeyed but then felt very heavy.  It was an ominous feeling in
her spirit.  She heard the Spirit say ‘there is a woman here that I want you to
tell “It is going to be alright and I love you very much”’.  In her head she
began to argue.  It was dark, she did not know anyone in the complex, and she
would feel weird going up to a house she did not know to say anything let alone
this message.

She decided to obey.  The Holy Spirit told her literally each turn to make to
get through the complex and she finally came to a condo with a white truck out
front and she heard “this is the one”.  She sat out front for fifteen minutes
not wanting to go.  She finally obeyed and went up and knocked on the door.  A
man answered and a woman was walking by in the rear.  She called her up to the
door and gave her the message and the woman broke down and cried.  She needed
to hear from God and had been praying.  Our Mars Hill obedient one ministered
to her and prayed for her and then left.  As she described it “I got in the
care and started yelling ‘God you are so cool, You are amazing, I love You  …’
etc”.  He leads us and guides us in the way we are to go.  God you really are
cool and amazing.

We say we will do anything for God but will we really?  When the call comes and
it looks odd or not rational or uncomfortable will we still obey?  God is
looking for hearts that are completely sold out to Him and His gentle nudging.

This will build the body if we pay attention.  One of the WWT (Wider Wrestling
Team) was in church last week and the Lord told him to “give that young lady
$20.00, she needs it for lunch”  He obeyed and the woman turned to a young man
and said “See, I gave you my last $5.00 because the Lord told me He would take
care of me.  You can trust Him.”

The teaching point of these stories is that God responds to His word and He
responds to His people.  Something unique happens when we step back and ask Him
how to pray or how to proceed in any situation.  We suddenly find ourselves
praying His heart and His will and we begin to see His results.

Let’s build each other up and watch what God will do with people fully sold out
to His agenda, listening and obeying His direction.

A few more examples of God’s agenda at work  …….

REPORTS:
• Three young men came to the “W” to pray for the wife of one of the men.  He
had been recently married and his wife has been struggling with digestive track
and woman issues that were causing great pain.  Pain to the extent that she had
spent the previous few days in bed.  We just heard back that when the husband
got home his wife was up and active and doing things around the house.  She
asked him “were you praying for me?”  She was instantly freed from the pain as
her husband lifted her up in prayer.  Very cool.
• A woman who had been infertile and was prayed for often by the wrestling team,
as well as her house church and other intercessors, gave birth to a healthy
little girl a few weeks ago.  The “birthing assistant” for the home delivery
was a woman who was healed of pain at the “W” during her 12th pregnancy.  Thank
you Father for an extended family of people who pray and believe You.
• We heard back from a woman who came to the “W” in an email;
Hi Ted,
I came to the healing service a few weeks ago with my husband and you prayed for
me. The 2 main things you prayed for me were family curse and fear.  I wanted to
give you an update by email as I'm very shy about talking in front of groups:
After the healing service when we arrived home my husband went to check his
emails and I began to prepare my last meal of the day. Suddenly fears just
started pouring into my head, not just one or two but all kinds of stuff. I
knew this wasn't me, but a spiritual attack. It was just too many things that I
wasn't even thinking about being thrown at me. The picture that came to mind was
a black mouth with teeth screaming. The fears were being screamed into my mind.
I sat down with my bible and food determined to pay it no mind and read
scripture while I ate. The screaming became less.  My husband came out of the
home office and I explained what was happening to him. He said something like,
"It sounds like a little kid throwing a tantrum. I guess Satins scared that
he's losing the fight." And when he said that I knew that that was exactly what
it was like, a little kid screaming and throwing a temper tantrum. At that
moment the fears stopped. I felt calm and peaceful. Praise the Lord! The calm
and peaceful lasted for almost a week.
Although some of the fear has occasionally returned this woman is fighting now
with spiritual weapons and trusting God to complete the work.  Indeed.
• We prayed for the mother of the wife of one of the Pastors who came to the
conference in Feb.  She was taken into the hospital with a severe heart event.
The report back is that all is well and the doctor’s cannot explain why she is
doing so very well.  Well, He is faithful.
• We heard recently that Mike Messenger, the young man who was healed of Brain
Cancer is still getting clean MRI’s.  Bless God for the good reports.
• A young man who could not remember directions or how to get home if he left a
two block radius was prayed for at the “W”.  He now is able to remember and
find his way.  Father, you are bigger than confusion and fear, thank you.
• A Mother brought her daughter to the “W” for prayer.  The Mother had been a
pediatric Diabetic and her daughter was as well as a son.  Also, the entire
family had been fighting the flu for a week.  Her small group prayed for her
and at the end of the ministry time the leader asked how she was doing and the
mother said “My daughter was coughing all through the worship and testimony
time and she has not coughed once since you prayed.”  Glorious Lord of healing
we adore You.
• We heard from a man who came to the “W” to seek prayer for his brother.  His
brother was involved in activity that was destroying his marriage and home.  He
was arrogant and angry toward anyone who tried to confront him with his
lifestyle choices.  The report back is that the day after we prayed he broke,
repented, asked for help and is seeking counseling and reconciliation with his
family.  The prayers of righteous people are effective and accomplish much.
• A woman was trying to end a difficult relationship and told us that God gave
her a peace and healer her heart during a quiet time alone with God.  The
relationship ended well and she was delighted at how God moved on her behalf.
God you really do love us.

Here are some additional things to be aware of as WT members;

OPPORTUNITIES:
•       Here are some things happening as a result of the “Wrestling Team Meeting”
February 18th.  Carrissa Woodwyk from Pastoral Care is working on space and
process issues.  We will have a number for Prayer Room emergencies (like a
person manifesting or losing control during ministry, etc).  This number will
be flashed up by the screens in the middle of the shed like the numbers that
come up for mom’s to check on their kids.  When the number goes up an
Elder/Pastor/WT Leader can go right back to the Prayer Room and assist.  More
info on additional changes to follow.
•       Please pray for the staff, leaders and volunteers at Mars Hill as they begin
to train on what the XYZ’s should look like on a practical basis.  The last
weekend in April is one of those training events.  Pray also and ask God where
you fit in this picture.
•       There are resources available now at www.hearinggod.org.  We have some of the
Updates loaded there as well as the healing verses, a reading list and some of
the prayers that we have found effective will be loaded soon.  There will be a
new site, www.thewrestlingteam.com, up next month that will be a location for
tools and resources; eventually a blog for ongoing Q&A.  These are not Mars
Hill sites and are only there for the purpose of easily dispersing information
and resources.

o       April 27-29 Regional Healing Conference for the RCA in Denver, CO with Tim
Vink.
o       May 13th Orchard Hill Reformed Church in GR, Sunday AM service.
o       June 13 - 16 Church Prayer Leaders Network National Conference. The CPLN was
started by Pray! Magazine and is run by the founder of Pray! Magazine, Jon
Graf.  The National conference is in GR this year at Sunshine Church up on the
Beltline.  I will be doing a six hour seminar on Healing Prayer as a
pre-conference session and then speaking a couple of times during the
conference
