Greetings all who wrestle for the Kingdom,

December.

Christmas.  Family gatherings, good food, remembering who we are in Christ, what a great time of year.  Unfortunately for many people it is bad memories of strife, abuse, pain and separation.  This world needs the hope of a redeemer now more than ever and we as intercessors need to be aware of our part in praying for real peace and joy.

Please take a moment as we enter this time of year to get quiet and ask God how you can express the redemption and recreation of your inner man to a hurting world.  It might be "take some cookies to the neighbor you have never met" and it might be to go and sit without words but with understanding with someone who is hurting.  It may be to boldly pray for healing for one of your co-workers like our friend did last month.  Let God direct amazing encounters during this season of remembrance.

Speaking of amazing encounters  .....   we got an email from a staff person at a church where I (Ted) recently spoke.  She has suffered for years with migraines and was on medication that was so strong that the family had begun to refer to her as 'the person who lays on the couch'.  Discouraged and debilitated.  Claudia and I prayed for her and she has not had a headache since and is back serving her family and the church full time with full energy.  She came last Wed night to the "W" to give thanks and brought two friends who desired prayer.  Can you imagine what would happen in our church if we could grab onto the depth of what we actually have been given in Christ?  Where all of us minister healing and restoration and life with such remarkable results that people are drawn to find out what is going on?  It is already happening, Father show each one of us our part in your dance.

We also heard from the prayer leader of a local CRC church who has begun to walk in the listening/healing relationship with God.  Here is a portion of her email;\

             Hi Ted!

I am finally getting back to you with what happened on the Emmaus Walk as

far as God using me in someone's healing.

God has been changing my view of healing over the last 6 years.  I went

to the healing conference in May ... [and] God has used me to pray for people for

healing but I still was not "used" to it.

At the spiritual retreat "Walk to Emmaus" one of the team members

approached me saying that one of the people attending the weekend would like

prayer for healing, as I asked this gal what was going on, another person

attending the retreat over heard what we were saying and asked if she could

be prayed for.  Well, I was a bit shook up but said "OK God, give me wisdom

and your words."  I prayed for the first gal for relief from restless leg

syndrome, I had a little bit of a sense that something was there that needed

to be explored but didn't have the time at that moment and felt OK with

leaving it for that time.  Then I prayed over the second gal and she wanted

relief from arthritis.  I asked them to keep me updated as the weekend

progressed.  As we were walking away the second gal says "I just felt a

warmth gush over me and my neck has stopped hurting!" Well, we praised

God!!!

The next day I noticed that the first gal had ice on her head, she said

she was having a terrible migraine and asked if I would pray for her again.

We went into the prayer room and as we were heading in there she said that

the restless leg syndrome started the night her father killed himself.  I

anointed her with oil and then inside I started freaking out!  I said "God,

there must be someone else in this prayer room that can pray for her!" He

said "What do you think I have been training you for?"  So I took a deep

breathe, said OK, and asked for the wisdom of the Holy Spirit.  As the

conversation and prayer continued she wept from the depths of her soul, she

must have wept for at least 10-15 minutes. She told me that her husband had

not allowed her to really cry after her father took his life.  Then after a

period of time she was able to forgive her father for leaving her and taking

his life.  Then she said she had not taken a call from her father the night

he killed himself and felt guilty about it.  I led her into a prayer of

forgiving herself.

She ended up leaving that room with no migraine and the next two

nights slept without the restless legs for the first time in 10 years!

I was floored!  Not because I thought God couldn't do it but because

he used little ol' me.  I know that God put us together on this retreat for

a reason and it was so cool to see what he did!!!

I was wiped out after that but I can't wait to see how else God will

use me!  As I told the ladies that weekend, "Get out of the boat, put your

eyes on Jesus and walk on water!!!"

Thanks for encouraging me Ted, feel free to take anything out if it is

too wordy!

We all feel a little uncomfortable in the role of "the person who prays for healing".  The truth is that since it is not us but Him we should relax and pay attention to the Holy Spirit and break through our discomfort so God can move in response to our prayers.  These are exciting days as God ramps up the intensity and frequency of His people praying with belief and seeing amazing results.

A few more examples of our God at work  .......

REPORTS:

* A gentleman came about a month ago as a result of miracles he saw in transformations in his stepson's life through prayer at the "W".  He was in a dry place in many ways but the focus was the family's financial needs.  He sells cars for a living and had gone for a few weeks without any sales and it was causing stress and issues.  We prayed and he came back the next week with no change but with renewed hope.  The following week God dealt with him regarding trust.  He needed to come to the point of laying down his control of the situation and giving it over to the Father.  Last Wed. he reported that he sold 7 cars in the past week but more than that he and the family are at peace.  We thank you Father, your name is shalom and provision.

* A woman with allergies reported that she can now eat anything she wants with no ill effect.  Thank you Father for taking away her fear and healing her body.

* An intercessor had a dream where Rob was working on three different ideas on a huge white board and Kristin was with him giving assistance.  When Rob was told this he was amazed because he had been up most of that night with three sheets of paper on the counter going over some ideas and Kristin was up helping him.  God you confirm yourself in remarkable ways.

* We heard from the Pastor who was electrocuted that he has now gone from near brain dead and little hope of recovery to moving to a rehab facility and starting speech therapy with the expectation that he will now fully recover.  Praise God.

* We prayed for a woman with severe pain.  The doctors could not find a cause.  After prayer she says that the pain melted away immediately and it has not returned.

* A woman needed a job and she just got hired after two weeks of prayer.

* A woman came to the "W" with a persistent rash and other issues.  We just got an email that told us the rest of the story.  By the time she got home the rash on her face had completely vanished and she was feeling great.  Thank you God for the truth of your Word.

*  A man and his wife were prayed for due to severe stress in their home.  An intercessor prayed shalom over their home and spirits and the atmosphere changed.  They are rejoicing in the new peace that permeates their home and their marriage since the prayer time.

*  A woman we have been praying with for nine months came to the "W" last week to let us know that her husband agreed to counseling last week.  After the first session they reconciled and he moved home and is continuing to meet with her and the counselor.  Also, we had prayed for an ovarian cyst and when she went back to the doctor it was gone and no treatment was needed.  Thank you Father for healing marriages and bookies in the name of Jesus.

*  A young man struggling with cigarette and alcohol addictions toad us last week that he has been off both substances now for three weeks.  We serve the addiction breaking God.

Here are some additional things to be aware of as WT members;

OPPORTUNITIES:

·         Pray for more members of the Wrestling Team.  With people moving and other transition issues our numbers have dropped in the past few weeks.  There are some services where we only have two or three people scheduled.  Please lift this up and think of people who might be interested in this effort.

·         Praise God for His faithfulness in answering so many of our prayer.

·         Please also pray for the teams from the GO team that are continually moving about the world

·         From our own tribe remember the Offringa's in Africa and Linn Gann in India as they minister and serve.

·         We need another person to join the worship rotation at the "W".  Isaiah will be touring with Vigilantes more and more and thus unable to lead us in worship as often on Wed. nights.  If you know someone able and willing please have him or her contact us.

·         We will be having a "Team Meeting" at some point in January.  Please be praying for an effective gathering.

You are appreciated and prayed for often.

Shalom in the name of Jesus,
